Liberal arts approach — theatre as a means to inspire humanity and engage a diverse society
Focus on classical and contemporary theatrical storytelling in the context of cultural diversity
Emphasis on playmaking, empathy, critical analysis, creative problem-solving, and changemaking
Students develop conceptual, creative, and technical skills necessary for playmaking

PRODUCTION OPPORTUNITIES

Students of all majors can audition for department productions
Multiple undergraduate productions per season including mainstage and student lab shows
Backstage roles available: stage manager, lighting operator, dresser, sound operator, stagehand
Students can assist professional designers in scenic, costume, and lighting design

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

BA degree within the College of Arts and Sciences
Curriculum covers acting, design, script analysis, and technical theatre
Theatre minor also available with foundational coursework and production experiences
