In-Person Dance Audition DayNov 22, 2025
No audition required to apply. Students audition for the program after enrolling at the university.
Dance
VIRTUAL AUDITION
•TWO CONTRASTING DANCE STYLES in one video
•At least one style should emphasize rhythm, musicality and your unique individuality
•May use class combinations or performance videos edited into one link
•Do not submit group choreography unless you are easily identifiable
•Introduce yourself and credit the composer/music artist and choreographer at the start
IN-PERSON AUDITION
•Audition day: Saturday, Nov. 22
•Learn combinations in rooted jazz, contemporary, ballet and tap
•Tap participation is optional
•Audition runs 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (doors open at 9 a.m. for warmup)

•Security settings must allow immediate playback
•Must adhere to guidelines or will be asked to resubmit
APPLICATION PROCESS
•Apply via Common App and select dance as your major
•Complete audition form on student status page
•Concentration added after gateway audition in first year
SCHOLARSHIP
•Automatically considered for Visual and Performing Arts scholarship
•Recipients notified at time of admission
INITIAL DANCE AUDITION
•Two options: in-person audition day (Nov. 22) or virtual video submission
•Virtual: submit video via student status page, then complete a scheduled virtual interview
•In-person: attend audition day, but still submit audition form via student status page
GATEWAY TO CONCENTRATION
•Additional audition or permission of program coordinator required
•Available no sooner than second semester of first year
•Students begin in the general dance major and add this concentration after gateway
