Transfer Pathway

SVSU's Department of Music publishes transfer-equivalency support and a Mott Community College articulation agreement; BA Music Education transfers should work with the music advisor or department chair to apply prior credits to the degree plan.

Audition Process

•Applied audition, musicianship assessment, and faculty interview are required before acceptance as a music education major.

•Apply to SVSU and submit the Department of Music application separately.

•A short music theory and aural-skills assessment is part of the audition process.

•Call Kelly McQuarter at 989-964-4159 to schedule the audition.

Scholarship Info

Music Scholarships

•Rhea Miller Scholarships are awarded based on audition, interview, and musicianship tests

•Awards range from $2,000 to $4,000 and may renew for up to four years for BA Music students

•Incoming freshmen should apply for the Rhea Miller Scholarship through SVSU's scholarship application
