•Perform a selection demonstrating college-level vocal performance skills
•Must show proficiency in phrasing, intonation, tone, reading, and musical interpretation
•Repertoire should represent vocal music genres appropriate to your area of study
APPLICATION
•Apply to Saddleback College via CCCApply (free, online)
•Rolling admissions — no application deadline
•After enrolling, audition separately for Applied Music courses
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
•Certificate is part of stackable certificates built upon the Basic Music Skills Certificate
•Also fulfills a portion of the requirements for the Music AA and ADT
GATEWAY AUDITION
•Students must pass an audition after enrolling at Saddleback College to enter Applied Music (MUS 50) and select vocal courses (MUS 32, 33, 34, 35)
•This is not an admission audition — enroll at the college first, then audition for performance courses
AUDITION OPTIONS (FALL 2026)
•Online: Submit audition form with YouTube video link by August 27, 2026
•In-person: August 20, 2026 at 3 PM in FA 101
WHAT TO EXPECT
