•May sing a cappella, with piano accompaniment, or a backing track

•Alternatively, students may choose to perform a monologue instead

Eligibility

•All enrolled SHU students may participate in the Theatre Arts Program regardless of major

•Audition required only for grant consideration and placement

What's The Process

Audition Format

•Sing at least 32 BARS or perform ONE MONOLOGUE (up to 3 min)

•Audition determines Performing Arts Grant eligibility and program placement

•Not required for university admission

In-Person Audition

•Approximately 10 minutes

•Bring sheet music for the accompanist

•Schedule via the SHU performing arts audition portal or contact theatrearts@sacredheart.edu

Video Audition

•Upload to YouTube as unlisted and email link to theatrearts@sacredheart.edu

•Include a slate: full name, hometown, high school, degree program, song name, and show

•May sing a cappella, with piano accompaniment, or a backing track

•Video must have clear viewing and audio quality
