Training
•Twelve-credit Performance concentration adds six applied-lesson credits and four ensemble credits to the BA Music core, culminating in faculty-guided junior and senior recitals
•Each recital runs a minimum of 60 minutes, with students selecting their own repertoire and accompanying musicians while demonstrating professional-level presentation and musicianship
•Private lessons are offered on 20 instruments, with faculty tailoring instruction to each student's level and goals
Facilities
•Recitals and ensemble performances are staged in campus venues including the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, Martire Media Theatre, Schine Auditorium, SHU Community Theatre, and the Chapel of the Holy Spirit
•University-wide instrumental and choral ensembles — including Concert Band, Orchestra, Concert Choir, and a cappella groups Blended Hearts and The SHUpermen — extend collaborative performance opportunities beyond music majors
Study Abroad
•Band and orchestra members have traveled internationally for performance opportunities in Ireland, Italy, and Vienna
