Training
•The 20-unit minor combines music theory, musicianship, history and literature, beginning musical instruction, and large-ensemble experience
•Coursework spans classical, popular, jazz, rock, world-music, piano, voice, guitar, hand drums, and other beginning-instruction options
Performance & Productions
•Large-ensemble credit is fulfilled through School of Music groups open to non-majors, including the Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, University Chorale, Choral Union, and jazz ensembles based out of Capistrano Hall
•Students complete performance or ensemble study, with the final three performance units taken at Sacramento State, and minors can attend the School's annual Festival of New American Music alongside music majors
