Training
•The 18-unit minor combines dance technique, choreography, production, history, cultural studies, and electives
•Technique options span jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, Mexican folklórico, hip-hop, and other movement practices, taught by a specialized dance faculty that includes Department Chair Philip Flickinger (modern/contemporary and choreography), Professor Lorelei Bayne (dance history, theory, and criticism), Samuel Fulk (ballet), Osvaldo Ramirez (Mexican folklorico), Vince Horiuchi (hip-hop), and Nicole Manker (African-Caribbean and Dunham technique)
Performance & Productions
•Technique classes, choreography coursework, and production practica are staged in Dancespace Solano 1010 and the department's Studio Theatre
•Elective credit is available through University Dance Company, the department's faculty- and student-choreographed concert produced in Shasta Hall's Playwrights Theatre
