Monologues
TWO CONTRASTING MONOLOGUES (OPTIONAL AUDITION)
•At least two contrasting monologues: one contemporary and one classical
•Each monologue should be under 3 minutes
•Musical Theater concentration applicants: prepare a monologue AND a song instead
Additional Materials
•Personal statement (max 650 words) about theatrical practice, goals, accomplishments, inspirations, and how you see yourself developing in the program
•CV/resume (optional)
•Rutgers University ID number (available 3–5 days after Rutgers application submission)

APPLICATION
•State your intended major (Acting concentration within Theater and Film) on your application
•No audition or portfolio review required for admission, but optional audition is strongly encouraged
SLIDEROOM TALENT ASSESSMENT (OPTIONAL)
•Submit after completing Rutgers University application — you will need your Rutgers ID number
•$15 SlideRoom fee
•Deadline: January 1 of the following year
•Portfolio includes: personal statement (650 words max), optional CV/resume, and up to 5 videos of contrasting monologues
BENEFITS OF SUBMITTING
•Students with advanced portfolios/recordings may receive college credits for previous achievements
•Students with strong portfolios but lower than standard grades/SAT scores may be considered for conditional placement
