Prescreen Requirements
Songs
THREE SONGS, 2-3 minutes each
•Three songs demonstrating different voice qualities
•Each should be the full journey of a song, cut down to 2-3 minutes maximum
ACCOMPANIMENT
•Live accompaniment preferred but not penalized for using a backing track
•If using a backing track, must be solo piano accompaniment — no orchestral backing tracks
VOCAL RANGE DEMONSTRATION
•Short demonstration of top and bottom of vocal range through sung arpeggios or octaves
Monologues
ONE CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUE, 2 minutes max
•Must be contemporary and naturalistic in style
•Avoid poetical styles (e.g., Stephen Berkoff, Samuel Beckett)
Additional Materials
SLATE VIDEO (required)
•Full body shot with smartphone at appropriate distance
•Record in landscape/horizontal orientation
•State your name, height, and current place of residence
•Keep delivery natural, light-hearted, and relaxed — not in character
•Should be just a few seconds in length
MOTIVATION VIDEO (required, 2 minutes max)
•Short explanation to camera of your motivation to join the programme
•Keep spontaneous and unscripted
PERSONALITY QUESTION VIDEO (required, 45 seconds max)
•Choose one of five provided questions (e.g., “How would your best friend describe you?”)
•Keep answer natural, spontaneous, and light-hearted
•Do not script your answer — ideally have someone ask you live after pressing record
•Do not reference singing, dancing, or acting in your answer

FILE NAMING

SELF-TAPE TIPS
•Tight/medium frame (chest up) for monologue and songs
•Camera at eye level, not above or below
•Do not look directly into camera during scenes
•No additional reverb or pitch correction software
ELIGIBILITY
•Postgraduate-level entry (or equivalent)
•Also available as PGCert for students who cannot meet academic MA requirements
What's The Process
PRESCREEN (Round 1)
•Submit video recordings via Acceptd by 14 January 2026, 18:00 UK time
•All material must be continuous, unedited, single takes
•Panel may contact you via phone or video call after review (does not indicate outcome)
LIVE RECALL (Round 2)
•Held in London in April 2026
•By invitation only after successful prescreen review
•In-person attendance required — no virtual option for MT recalls
