Audition Process
•All on-campus music auditions have concluded; virtual audition submissions are accepted until June 15, 2026
•Upload audition materials through the Applicant Status Portal in the Digital Submission section by the deadline
•Students may request a one-on-one audition by contacting Audition Coordinator Angelique Gonzalez at gonzaleza@rowan.edu
What to Prepare by Instrument
•Brass: two contrasting items from the etude/studies and solo lists; orchestral excerpts are welcome but not required
•Strings: three-octave scales, one etude (Kreutzer or equivalent), and contrasting solo works (Bachelor of Music applicants typically prepare a Classical-or-later concerto movement plus a Baroque sonata or partita movement)
•Woodwinds: two contrasting selections, movements, or etudes showing lyrical and technical playing, plus the required major and chromatic scales
•Percussion: a snare-drum solo etude, plus scales/arpeggios and a mallet solo (marimba, vibraphone, or xylophone)
•Several instrument areas include a short sight-reading check at the audition
•Be prepared to briefly discuss your musical background, work ethic, and career goals
