Monologues
TWO CONTRASTING MONOLOGUES FROM PUBLISHED PLAYS
•Same requirements as Acting concentration
•Pieces may contrast in style, tone, emotional range, or character
•Total time for introduction and both pieces should not exceed 3 minutes

HEADSHOT
•Recent photo or headshot

TABLETOP DIRECTING SCENE
•5-minute maximum tabletop presentation
•Share some aspect of yourself better expressed through movement than language
•One standard tabletop (6ft long) provided
•Any objects may be placed on top of the table and moved during lights up or lights out
•Maximum of 6 blackouts and 6 lights up
•No text allowed — only movement of objects
•Focus on spatial dynamics, tempo, stage patterns, kinesthetic energy, duration, repetition, scale, architecture

What's The Process
AUDITION DAY FORMAT
•Day begins with Q&A session
•Collaborative group devising exercise with fellow applicants
•Present two contrasting monologues (same as Acting concentration)
•Present tabletop directing scene
•Meet with Theatre faculty
WHAT TO EXPECT
•Work with a small ensemble of prospective students and department members
•Come dressed in clothes you can move in
VIRTUAL OPTION
•If unable to attend in person, submit a virtual audition
•Virtual audition reviewed by faculty as formal audition
