Program Submission

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Dance

Virtual Audition

•Submit two separate video recordings: a Technique Phrase and a Compositional Study

•Each video must be 2 minutes or less, excluding the spoken name and location

Technique Phrase

•Learn Rowan’s provided phrase combining ballet and modern dance elements with dance-improvisation prompts

•Perform the phrase twice

Compositional Study

•Create an 8-count phrase from the technique phrase, then develop three variations using Rowan’s movement-manipulation methods

•Arrange the four phrases into a movement sentence with attention to pathways, transitions, and stillness

•Current resume detailing dance experience

On-Campus Workshop

•Participate in a faculty-led workshop beginning with improvisation and spontaneous composition

•Complete codified technique sequences and create short dance compositions with musical accompaniment

Attire

•Wear a leotard with footless tights or leggings

•No specific footwear is required
