Second song should contrast the style of the first selection

Selections may be musical theater, pop, hip-hop, folk, rock, rap, soul, country, punk, or another suitable style

From a published play or written by a professional writer

Professional writer means the writer's plays have been produced, even if not professionally published

Choose age-appropriate material that feels authentic to your culture, background, and lived experience

Dance

Dance Video

Show your best version of dancing or moving

Include at least one turn, one jump, and one kick, or suitable rotation, elevation, and extension for your body

Choose movement you can execute well

CCPA provides an optional jazz combination video if you do not have choreography

Good to Know

Application Logistics

Submit the Roosevelt University application first; there is no fee for the university application

BFA Musical Theatre applicants then submit prescreen materials through GetAcceptd when the theatre cycle is open

GetAcceptd has published a December 1, 2026 final deadline and earlier Fall 2027 submission milestones, but the portal is not currently open

Applicants can request consideration for the Dance Concentration, BFA Acting, and BA Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies through the same Acceptd application

Transfer Pathway

BFA Musical Theatre transfer applicants may transfer into the Theatre Conservatory only after a successful entrance audition. Faculty determine BFA curriculum placement at admission, undergraduate transfers may not enter above the sophomore level, and transfer courses are reviewed at initial advising.

What's The Process

Audition Process

BFA Musical Theatre uses a two-phase process: prescreen video submission, then invited live audition

Prescreens are submitted through Acceptd after the Roosevelt application is submitted

Acceptd publishes the Fall 2027 application deadlines and 2026-27 Unifieds schedule but currently lists the application as not open

Roosevelt's official CCPA admissions page still displays the prior Fall 2026 schedule

Audition Expectations

Current published requirements reference MTCP Song Option A, Monologue Option A, Dance Option A, Ballet Option C, and optional Wild Card

Ballet is not required for the general track; a separate ballet video applies only when requesting additional Dance Concentration consideration

Roosevelt states applicants do not need to bring a headshot or resume to the audition
