Prescreen Requirements

Monologues

Two Contrasting Monologues, 60 Sec Each

From published plays or professional writers

Use contrasting characterization, such as high-status vs low-status contemporary characters, or one contemporary piece and one language-rich text written before 1960

Framing & Memorization

Film in full-body or three-quarter medium-long shot from the knees up

Must be completely memorized

Optional Wild Card Video (60 Seconds)

Show your personality or share something about you

Can be ANYTHING: a special skill, an interesting story, a passion speech, an instrument you play, etc.

"What do you want us to know about you?" and "What makes you unique?"

Additional Materials

Slate Video (10 Seconds)

Record one introduction slate video stating your name and pronouns if desired

Speak loudly and clearly directly at the camera

Application Logistics

Submit the Roosevelt University application first; there is no fee for the university application

BFA Theatre applicants then submit prescreen materials through GetAcceptd when the theatre cycle is open

GetAcceptd has published Fall 2027 early-submission milestones and a January 15 final deadline, but the portal is not currently open

Transfer Pathway

BFA Acting transfer applicants may transfer into the Theatre Conservatory only after a successful entrance audition. Faculty determine BFA curriculum placement at admission, undergraduate transfers may not enter above the sophomore level, and transfer courses are reviewed at initial advising.

What's The Process

Audition Process

BFA Acting uses a two-phase process: prescreen video submission, then invited live audition

Prescreens are submitted through Acceptd after the Roosevelt application is submitted

Acceptd publishes the Fall 2027 application deadlines and 2026-27 Unifieds schedule but currently lists the application as not open

Roosevelt's official CCPA admissions page still displays the prior Fall 2026 schedule

Audition Expectations

Acting prescreen requires an introduction slate and two monologues from published plays or professional writers

Invited auditions may use prescreen material or new material when the active cycle is scheduled

Roosevelt states applicants do not need to bring a headshot or resume to the audition

Scholarship Info

CCPA Scholarship automatically considered for all admitted students, ranging from partial to full tuition (does not exceed tuition, does not apply to fees, housing, meals, books)
