Training
•Bullet: The 24-credit Performing Arts concentration requires two private music lessons, Class Piano I and II, Music Foundations and Ear Training I, and Acting Foundations, then 8 elective hours chosen from ballet, tap, and musical theatre dance, music ensembles and lessons, theatre practicum, stage combat, voice and movement, and play analysis
•Bullet: Students who score 80% or higher on the Music Theory Placement test may replace Class Piano I and Music Foundations and Ear Training I with any THE course numbered 2000 or above
•Bullet: As one of two required concentrations inside the Interdisciplinary Studies BS, Performing Arts combines music, dance, and acting coursework with a second field of study rather than standing alone as a theatre or music major
Professional Development
•Bullet: No dedicated admission audition is published for this concentration; students may schedule an optional theatre or music audition or interview to be considered for department scholarships open to any theatre and music participant, regardless of major
•Bullet: Applicants seeking that optional scholarship consideration may present a music or musical theatre audition, or a portfolio and resume for technical theatre or directing interests, letting one audition cover more than one performance or production interest
