Placement & Admission
•Bullet: Admitted students take a written music theory placement exam — for course placement only, it does not affect admission or scholarship
•Bullet: Students must pass a Piano Proficiency Exam to be formally admitted to the Music Education major
•Bullet: Students must be admitted to both the School of the Arts and the Price School of Education
Degree Requirements
•Bullet: Leads to K-12 (P-12) teaching certification in the State of Georgia
•Bullet: Coursework in String, Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, and Vocal methods to prepare for both vocal and instrumental teaching
•Bullet: Senior recital required (25 minutes minimum)
•Bullet: Major performance ensemble required each full-time semester in residence
