Placement & Admission
•Admitted students take a written music theory placement exam — for course placement only, it does not affect admission or scholarship
•Students must pass a Piano Proficiency Exam to be formally admitted to the Music Education major
•Students must be admitted to both the School of the Arts and the Price School of Education
Degree Requirements
•Leads to K-12 (P-12) teaching certification in the State of Georgia
•Coursework in String, Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, and Vocal methods to prepare for both vocal and instrumental teaching
•Senior recital required (25 minutes minimum)
•Major performance ensemble required each full-time semester in residence
