Training
•Private one-on-one instruction in voice, guitar, piano, and most orchestral instruments, taught by a faculty of active performing musicians led by Program Chair Hill M. Baker; no audition required to enroll in lessons
•Day, evening, weekend, and online course options include Music Appreciation, Music History, World Music, and History of Jazz, which fulfill Arts and Humanities core requirements
•Theory, Electronic Music, and Songwriting courses serve students building toward advanced study, alongside beginner-level theory courses for those with little or no music background
Degree Flexibility
•Music coursework can contribute to the general Associate of Arts degree. The 2026-2027 catalog does not list a separate AA Music credential, Music designated degree, or formal Music emphasis
•Graduates pursue work as a musician, educator, choir director, music supervisor, private instructor, or in audio production
