Placement Exams

Admitted students take music theory and aural-skills placement assessments at orientation for course placement only, not admission

Grade Requirements

C- or better in all required music courses

Overall GPA of 2.5 or higher for required music courses

Audition on a primary instrument or voice using that area's repertoire requirements

Major scales, sight-reading, and an aural perception assessment

Audition determines full acceptance into the School of Music and serves as scholarship consideration

Decisions

Students indicating music as their major are placed in "Pre-Music" upon university acceptance
