Audition Requirements

Songs

One Song

A song of your choice that sits comfortably within your vocal range

No longer than 3 minutes

Bring sheet music in the correct key and cut for the pianist, or arrange a backing track in advance

Monologues

One Contemporary Monologue

Age-appropriate, approximately 1 minute 30 seconds

Must not be from a film, musical, or Shakespeare play

Dance

Dance Tech

Ballet and jazz technical fusion class (centre exercises, kicks, leaps, turns, across the floor)

Dance Performance

Choreographed commercial routine taught on the day, plus improvised/freestyle movement

Optional prepared solo (max 1 minute) in your preferred genre; submit your track before the audition day

Additional Materials

80 UCAS points (3 A-Levels or equivalent)

3 GCSEs at C/4 or above, including English Language

IELTS 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each band) for international students

No audition fee or deposit required to secure your place

Student Finance England loans cover the full tuition fee for eligible UK students

Transfer Pathway

Applicants with relevant prior study may request direct entry to Year 2 or Year 3 of the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre and Dance through Performers College's Recognition of Prior Learning review. The college assesses prior attainment and transferable credit against the requested course level.

What's The Process

Audition Process

Live audition held on campus November to March

Online self-tape audition available for those unable to attend in person

Student ambassador Q&A; some applicants may be recalled for an individual interview with a member of the course leadership team

Outcome notified within two weeks; conditional or unconditional offer confirmed via UCAS Track

Audition Expectations

Dance Tech: ballet and jazz technical fusion class

Dance Performance: choreographed routine, freestyle, and an optional prepared solo

Singing: technical exercises and one prepared song with a pianist

Acting: prepared contemporary monologue plus group warm-up exercises

Scholarship Info
