Repertoire

•Two contrasting pieces from the standard repertoire

•Perform from memory

•One piece in English

•One piece in Italian, French, or German

Sight-Reading

•Audition committee may ask prospective students to sight-read

Accompaniment

•Auditioning students may supply their own accompanist or request one from the College of the Arts

•Prerecorded accompaniment tracks are not allowed for auditions except Popular Music

Application Logistics

•Submit the College of the Arts application through Acceptd

•Submit the university application separately through Common App or PBA admissions

•You must be accepted by the university before a full program offer can be made

Program Requirements

•Freshmen and transfers are evaluated for piano study, music theory, and musicianship skills placement

•Additional music tests may be required for course placement

Important Notes

•Priority music scholarship consideration is given when the application and audition are complete before March 20

Transfer Pathway

Palm Beach Atlantic evaluates transfer students for placement in studio, theory, and musicianship through the music department audition process and accepts transfer credit toward the degree.

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Admission to Music is by audition only; submit the College of the Arts application in Acceptd and select an audition date

•Complete a live audition and interview with music faculty before initial enrollment

•Video submissions are accepted only for provisional consideration when a live audition is not practical

•Application materials and auditions should be complete at least six weeks before the first term

•Approval for study is based on audition, interview, and review of previous work
