Expert Tips

The due date for the Pace academic application for potential performing arts majors is December 1. The prescreen is due January 3. Make sure you get the academic application in on time, otherwise you won't be able to audition.

Pace MT is known to have one of the more difficult dance calls of the season! Get ready!

•Song Selections

•Two contrasting songs, each 60-90 seconds

•One should be a ballad and one should be an up-tempo

•Songs can be from any time period and any style

•At least one should be from the musical theater canon

•When selecting contrasting songs, show two different vocal qualities, textures, or skills

•Must sing to live or recorded accompaniment (no a cappella)

Monologues

Requirements

•1 Contemporary Monologue (written after 1950)

•From a published full-length play

•Under 90 seconds

•Cannot be from musicals, television shows, or movies

Dance

•1 dance solo using provided choreography

•School strongly encourages using their choreography but will accept different submission if needed

•Choreography can be adapted for physical abilities and skill level
