ONU campus auditions don't require a prescreen. Auditioning at the New York or Chicago Unifieds requires an Acceptd prescreen before you can secure an off-campus slot.

Acceptd is currently accepting BFA Musical Theatre submissions; the portal lists a February 7, 2027 deadline

Important Notes

ONU uses the 2026-27 Musical Theater Common Prescreen criteria

Song Option C, Monologue Option A, Dance Option B, and Ballet Option B are published in the current Acceptd guidelines

Transfer Pathway

Transfer students entering the BFA Musical Theatre can bring a completed Ohio Transfer 36 block to satisfy ONU's general-education requirements. Major-specific curriculum and the program audition still apply.

What's The Process

Audition Process

Musical Theatre applicants must complete a departmental audition for admission

ONU campus auditions do not require a prescreen

New York and Chicago Unifieds require an Acceptd prescreen before an off-campus audition slot can be secured

After prescreen approval, ONU sends directions for scheduling the Unified audition

Audition Expectations

The live song and monologue selections are the same as the digital prescreen selections

Campus auditions take place at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts

The same audition is used for admission and talent award consideration

Scholarship Info

Musical Theatre Talent Awards begin at $2,000 per year

Coordinated with other University grants and scholarships

Auditions for talent award consideration must be completed before March 1
