Songs

Two Memorized Works

Contrasting styles preferred

Vocal District and State contest repertoire encouraged

One foreign language song highly encouraged but not required

Additional Audition Components

Vocalize as requested by faculty

Sight-read a passage of music (on solfege, numbers, or la)

Sing the Star-Spangled Banner or another traditional song unaccompanied as requested

Audition dates correspond to Bison Days; faculty will contact you to schedule after receiving your application

Auditions are based on faculty availability

Audition Expectations

Contact the music division office if you need an accompanist for your audition

Bring copies of your sheet music for the accompanist

After Your Audition

You will receive two notices by mail from the Division of Music

First notice: your readiness to pursue a degree in music at OBU

Second notice: financial aid offered by the Division of Music
