Audition Process
•Bullet: Apply to OBU first; music study admission and financial aid require university acceptance
•Bullet: Submit the Music Application (separate from the university application)
•Bullet: Audition dates correspond to Bison Days; faculty will contact you to schedule after receiving your application
•Bullet: Audition for the music faculty on your principal area (voice or piano)
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Prepare the repertoire and technical requirements for your principal area (see Voice or Keyboard requirements)
•Bullet: Piano primary: two to three contrasting pieces or movements, at least one from memory; sight-read an excerpt; be prepared to discuss your goals
•Bullet: Bring a repertoire list of solo pieces and copies of your sheet music for the accompanist
After Your Audition
•Bullet: You will receive two notices by mail from the Division of Music
•Bullet: First notice: your readiness to pursue a degree in music at OBU
•Bullet: Second notice: financial aid offered by the Division of Music
