•Bachelor of Music in Vocal Education prepares students to teach vocal music in a group setting for K-12 public school certification, led by Karsten Longhurst, DMA — Wanda L. Bass Chair of Vocal Music Education and Artistic Director of Canterbury Youth Voices
•Students teach private voice lessons through the OCU Performing Arts Academy and serve as sectional coaches for school ensembles and the Canterbury Voices adult and youth ensembles
Professional Development
•100% pass rate on the Oklahoma Teacher Certification Exams and 100% placement rate for graduates actively seeking teaching positions
•Alumni honors include the 2006 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year (Robyn Hilger), 2018 OKMEA Hall of Fame Award (Anne B. Guevara), and 2026 OKMEA Hall of Fame Award (Susan Clothier)
Facilities
•Rehearses and teaches inside the 113,000-sq-ft Bass Music Center, home base for the Canterbury Voices ensembles
