Training
•Emphasis tracks: costume design, scene design, lighting design, props design, sound design, stage and production management, and technical direction
•Double-emphasis options are available for some students
•Students receive their first production assignment in the fall semester of freshman year
•Production shops and stages extend classroom work across plays, musicals, opera, dance, corporate events, and children’s theatre
Performance & Productions
•Costume students may receive up to two production assignments each semester
•The costume area designs and produces four to six musicals, operas, and plays per semester
Professional Development
•Five local professional performing-arts partnerships create opportunities in performance, design, production, and management
•Oklahoma City Ballet placements include lighting and management work supporting productions at Civic Center Music Hall
•Music Theatre Wichita gives students early access to summer-position interviews, with selected design students designing Academy productions
