Audition Requirements
Monologues
ONE CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUE, 60-90 sec
•Must be from a published play written after the year 2000
•Cannot be from a musical, television show, movie, monologue collection, or one-person show
Songs
TWO CONTRASTING SONGS, 60-90 sec each
•One song should be a BALLAD and one should be UP-TEMPO to contrast style
•Each song should be 60-90 seconds — do not exceed this time limit
•Must sing to musical accompaniment — no a cappella
Dance
DANCE CALL
•Dance calls held at on-campus auditions and select off-campus auditions
OPTIONAL DANCE VIDEO SUPPLEMENT
•30-60 seconds of dance in any discipline you feel most confident
-Jazz, ballet, tap, modern, cultural dance styles, hip hop, lyrical, or contemporary
•Choreography should be story-driven and connected to the music
•No barre work — a ballet solo is acceptable
•Must be a solo video of you (can be from a show or performance if clearly featured alone)
•Self-choreographed choreography is acceptable
•All choreography must be performed to music — no a cappella dance
Wildcard / Special Skill (Optional)
WILDCARD VIDEO (optional), 60 sec max
•Showcase anything you'd like the faculty to know about you
•A special skill, an interesting story, a passion speech, an instrument you play, etc.
•Submit via the optional dance video supplement form

•Students not admitted to BFA may be admitted to the BA in Theater
•Transfer students require an audition for BFA admission
What's The Process
AUDITION FORMAT
•Three options: on-campus, National Unifieds, or video submission
•Audition includes songs, monologue, and dance call
•BFA applicants who do not audition but are admissible will be admitted to the BA in Theater

•School of Theater Audition and Interview Day: January 17, 2026
VIDEO AUDITION
•Submit via the video audition submission form through your applicant status portal
•Must first apply to OHIO, then log in using your application email address
