Audition Requirements

Dance

Dance Audition

Participate in modern, ballet, jazz or African dance, and improvisation

Demonstrate technical proficiency, strength and flexibility, spatial and rhythmic accuracy, performance quality, focus, and creative expression

Attire

Wear dancewear that allows freedom of movement

Footwear

Dance barefoot for the modern portion

Ballet slippers or jazz shoes may be worn for ballet and jazz

Additional Materials

Dance Video (Required for Video-Audition Applicants)

Submit videos responding to the modern and creative prompts; up to two additional dance videos are optional

Transfer applicants must audition; prior dance courses are reviewed for transfer applicability

Transfer Pathway

Dance transfer applicants audition for admission. Prior dance courses may receive major applicability through Ohio Transfer Assurance Guide prequalification or review by the School of Dance chair.
