Audition Process
•Bullet: Audition is used for music-major status and scholarship consideration
•Bullet: In-person auditions are 10 minutes, followed by an interview
•Bullet: Video recordings are accepted when a student cannot attend in person
•Bullet: Fall 2027 scholarship audition dates are open: Nov 14, 2026; Jan 23, Feb 15, Feb 21, and Feb 28, 2027
Instrumental Repertoire
•Bullet: Brass and woodwind applicants prepare a state-list solo or established-method etude; sight-reading and major scales may be requested
•Bullet: Keyboard applicants prepare scales and two selections from different style periods; organ applicants prepare two organ works, a short piano work, and a hymn stanza
•Bullet: Percussion applicants prepare required snare-drum and mallet works; timpani pitch work may be requested
•Bullet: String applicants prepare scales and two contrasting works; classical and jazz guitar have separate published requirements
