Audition Process
•No prescreen; all applicants complete the dance audition application and choose one audition option.
•In-person auditions are strongly recommended; the online audition is available as an accommodation for students who cannot attend in person.
•Autumn in-person cycle: audition application due October 9, 2026; October 23 visit day recommended; October 24 audition required.
•Winter in-person cycle: audition application due January 16, 2027; January 29 visit day recommended; January 30 audition required.
•Online cycle: audition application due January 16, 2027; audition videos due January 23, 2027.
Audition Expectations
•Three components: movement audition, creative prompt/solo, and faculty interview.
•In-person audition includes solo showings, interview prompts, and movement audition.
•Online applicants record movement phrases and creative-prompt videos after receiving Ohio State-specific instructions.
•The movement audition includes African, contemporary, and ballet movement phrases.
•No separate headshot or dance resume is required as part of the audition.
Decisions
•Autumn audition results emailed on or before November 6, 2026.
•Online audition results emailed on or before February 12, 2027.
