Program Requirements
•Bullet: Entering music students take written and aural music theory, piano proficiency, and applied-area placement exams
•Bullet: All music majors must pass piano proficiency by the end of sophomore year
•Bullet: Pre-college piano and instrumental study are strongly recommended
•Bullet: Music majors participate in a departmental ensemble for eight consecutive semesters
•Bullet: Pedagogy of Music students complete K-12 music teacher-preparation coursework, field experience, and student teaching
