Program Requirements

•All music majors must pass a piano proficiency exam by end of sophomore year

•Pre-college piano study is strongly recommended

•One year of French, German, Spanish, or Italian required for voice majors

•8 consecutive semesters of departmental ensemble participation required

Audition Process

•Perform a vocal audition for the music faculty

•Audition can be in person or by audio/video

•Three letters of recommendation must accompany the audition

•Placement examinations also required (music theory, piano proficiency, applied voice)

•Acceptance to the university does not guarantee admission to the Music Department

•An official Welcome Packet with detailed audition information is available through the Music Department
