Program Recognition
•BM Music Technology is a 120-credit Bachelor of Music built around a three-part curriculum: 20 credits of music technique, 28 credits of music theory and history, and 30 credits of music-technology coursework.
•The Department of Music is NASM-accredited, and coursework runs through Joshua Tomlinson, Edward Stumpp, and audio-technology lecturer Terry Herald.
Training
•Sample coursework includes Basic Recording, Acoustics for Musicians, Advanced Recording Techniques, Orchestration and Arranging, Interactive Computer Music, and MIDI and Sequencing, taught in the digital music lab built into Oakland's recital hall.
•The degree requires a student internship in a recording studio or performing venue before graduation.
Professional Development
•Graduates are prepared for studio engineering, video and film sound editing, live sound engineering, record production, film and video composition, and exhibition sound design.
•Students have access to more than 100 public concerts each year for live-recording and production practice.
