Program Recognition
•Bullet: This dual-degree track pairs the BM Music Education, Instrumental and General Music credential with a full BM Instrumental Performance degree, so graduates earn both a teaching certification and a performance degree in one program of study.
•Bullet: The Department of Music is NASM-accredited; the performance side runs through the strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion faculty, including Brass Program Coordinator Kenneth Kroesche.
Training
•Bullet: Students complete the full instrumental-performance applied sequence alongside music-specific education courses rather than School of Education coursework and more than 100 hours of community engagement before student teaching.
•Bullet: The combined program prepares graduates for the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification while also meeting BM Instrumental Performance's applied-study requirements.
Professional Development
