Primary-Instrument Requirements
•Brass and woodwinds: one sonata or concerto movement, or two contrasting etudes, plus sight reading
•Strings and guitar: two contrasting works selected from Baroque, nineteenth- or twentieth-century sonata/concerto, and free-choice repertoire; sight reading
•Percussion: 5–15 minutes showing snare drum, keyboard percussion, and one of timpani, drumset, or accessory/world percussion; sight reading or aural assessment may be included
•Instrumental auditions are unaccompanied
Audition Process
•Interview with the relevant faculty
•Music theory placement exam; the score does not affect admission
•Video applicants normally complete a later virtual interview
