Audition Requirements

Songs

Requirements

•Two contrasting musical theatre songs, 60-90 sec each

•Sing with live or recorded accompaniment

•No a cappella singing

Live Audition

•An accompanist is provided for auditions at the New York campus

•Bring sheet music in a three-ring binder and in the correct key

Monologues

Requirements

•One contemporary monologue from a published American play, 60-90 sec

•The monologue cannot be from a musical, television show, or film

•Material must be fully memorized

Dance

Optional Dance Video

•Applicants who identify as dancers may submit a dance video for the committee

•Follow NYFA's BFA dance-video guidance: solo presentation, full body in frame, and choreography performed to music
