Prescreen Requirements

Portfolio

•Submit a portfolio of at least three original pieces of varying length and instrumentation, with the date of composition for each work

•Submit a recording (CD or DVD) of at least one of the compositions

Letters of Recommendation

•Two letters of recommendation from recent arts or educational instructors/counselors

Primary-Instrument Audition

•Audition on your primary instrument with two contrasting works from the standard classical repertoire

•Selections must demonstrate technical and musical performance ability

•Personal compositions may not be used for the performance audition

Scholarship Info

Nwsa Merit Scholarship

•Awarded annually based on merit

•Award may be applied to Miami Dade College or University of Florida tuition and fees

Additional Aid

•Complete the FAFSA for federal financial aid consideration

•Future Ready Miami-Dade Scholarship may cover tuition for eligible Miami-Dade County residents

•Miami Dade College Presidential Scholars offers merit-based awards for qualifying high-achieving students
