Training
•Students develop costume design and construction skills for theatre, film and television, dance, opera, and other performance areas
•Training includes corsetry, pattern cutting, draping, tailoring, millinery, costume props, fabric knowledge, textile breaking down, print, dye, and emerging technologies
•Costume students collaborate with the wider Design for Performance area and tailor optional modules to their goals
Professional Development
•Students can complete work experience up to a year in length and may gain additional professional-practice recognition
•NTU highlights visits to venues such as the V&A and the National Theatre costume department, plus trips to opera, ballet, theatre, and dance performances
