Audition Requirements

Songs

Two Contrasting Vocal Selections

Prepare two contrasting vocal selections

Contemporary material is preferred

Accompaniment

Live accompaniment is provided for on-campus and many regional auditions

Bring prerecorded accompaniment as a backup for regional auditions

Dance

Dance Assessment

Complete a live or recorded dance assessment

Transcript (Required)

Submit a high school transcript or equivalent

Statement (Required)

Submit the required personal statement

Video (Required)

Submit 1 song cut, 30–60 seconds, in a contemporary musical theatre, pop, rock, or similar style

Submit 1 or 2 dance videos, 30–60 seconds each

At least 1 dance video should use musical theatre, jazz, or a similar style

Be easily identifiable in each dance video

Video (Optional)

May also submit 1 contemporary monologue, 30–60 seconds

Good to Know

Application Logistics

Applications open August 1 for enrollment the following fall

Regular application deadline: March 1; late applications may be considered case by case

Must register for an audition by March 15 after submitting the application

Eligibility

High school diploma or equivalent required by enrollment

Minimum 2.0 GPA required

Fall enrollment only

Unable to accept international students requiring a student visa

Denied applicants may reapply the following year; after three unsuccessful attempts across all majors, applicants are no longer eligible

Transfer Pathway

This is a transfer pathway degree built to transfer into a four-year program. Confirm which universities it articulates to, and which credits carry over, before you enroll.

What's The Process

Audition Process

After submitting the application, students receive audition registration instructions by email

Students who submit an application but do not schedule an audition by March 15 are automatically rejected

Audition Expectations

Must register for and attend one scheduled audition

Auditions are available on a first-come, first-served basis

Decisions

Callbacks may be requested and scheduled directly with the student

Three possible outcomes: Admission, Waitlist, or Denial

Regular admission decisions are released by April 1

All students automatically considered for limited number of merit-based scholarships

Admits without consideration of financial background or ability to pay

Needs-Based Aid

Additional needs-based scholarships and financial assistance available with additional documentation
