Audition Requirements

Monologues

TWO SHORT, CONTRASTING CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUES (1980s or later)

At least 1 monologue should be cinematic in nature
Choose a character of any gender identification
Select material that reflects your own brand as an actor
Portray characters close to your age
Absolutely NO classical materials

OPTIONAL PRERECORDED MATERIALS (recommended)

1 or 2 monologues or sides (30-60 sec, not to exceed 90 sec each)
-Contemporary material preferred (1980s or later) from play, movie, or TV show
Video with marketable skills optional (dance, singing, tumbling, etc.)
May submit prescreens/self-tapes or performance video

Application deadline: March 1
Must register for audition by March 15 or face automatic rejection

ELIGIBILITY

High school diploma or equivalent required by enrollment
Minimum 2.0 GPA required
Fall enrollment only
Denied applicants may reapply the following year (max 3 attempts across all majors)

PRESCREEN

No prescreen required — all applicants audition in person or virtually
Optional prerecorded materials encouraged for admissions team to have on file

What's The Process

AUDITION FORMAT

Must register for and attend one scheduled in-person or virtual audition
Auditions available on first-come, first-served basis

SCHEDULING

After submitting application, you receive email with audition registration instructions
Students who submit application but don't schedule audition by March 15 are automatically rejected

CALLBACKS & DECISIONS

Callbacks may be scheduled directly with student
Notification of admission status by March 31 via email
Three possible outcomes: Admission (recommended to Presidential Committee), Waitlist (limited openings), or Denial

Scholarship Info

All students automatically considered for limited merit-based scholarships
Additional needs-based scholarships and financial assistance available
