•Optional Music Theatre Supplemental Portfolio is encouraged for Theatre major applicants interested in the Music Theatre Certificate
•Submit the portfolio through SlideRoom when an available program is listed
•The June 2026 SlideRoom directory shows no available public program cards; contact the Music Theatre program if the portal does not show an open portfolio
•First-year portfolio deadlines follow Northwestern Early Decision and Regular Decision deadlines
•Transfer applicants submit the portfolio with their transfer application
Eligibility
•Music Theatre Supplemental Portfolio is for School of Communication Theatre major applicants
•Bienen School of Music applicants should not submit the MT portfolio
Admission Pathway
•No audition required for BA Theatre admission
•Admission to Northwestern and portfolio submission do not guarantee acceptance into the Music Theatre Certificate
Important Notes
•Music Theatre Certificate auditions and interviews take place during winter quarter of sophomore year
•Certificate coursework begins junior year
•Students not accepted may still perform in musicals and take music theatre courses
