Repertoire
•Prepare two contrasting selections that best reflect your ability on your primary instrument
•Brass/Woodwind: two contrasting selections, no more than two minutes each; All-State etudes and solos are acceptable
•Percussion: one etude or solo on each of snare drum (or multi-percussion), marimba, and timpani
•Piano (Performance): three contrasting pieces from three different historical periods, memorization required
Scales & Technique
•Brass: play your chromatic scale, preferably two octaves, to demonstrate range and control
•Woodwind: scales are optional
•Piano: all major and harmonic minor scales with arpeggios are recommended but not required for admission
Sight-Reading
•Percussion applicants will be asked to sight-read a snare drum excerpt
Repertoire List
•Pianists: bring a repertoire list covering the last five years of study
Letters of Recommendation
•Pianists: bring two letters of recommendation, including one from your current teacher
