Audition Expectations
•Auditions serve as both admission to the music major and scholarship evaluation
•A principal-instrument or voice audition is required for all music majors, including music education
•Held in the Center for the Performing Arts on the Tahlequah campus
•In-person on designated dates, or by appointment
•Virtual and prerecorded video auditions can also be arranged
•Schedule a private meeting or lesson with the NSU faculty member who teaches your instrument or voice before auditioning
Post-Enrollment
•A short ear training and music theory placement test is administered after the audition
•Used for course placement purposes and establishing benchmarks
