•Music AFA coursework combines music history, theory, performance, individual lessons, and solo performance opportunities
•Instructors include artists trained at Eastman, University of North Texas, CCM, and San Francisco Conservatory
•Brass musicians take MUSC 1860 Applied Music: Brass across the four-semester major-instrument lesson requirement.
•Concert Band and MUSC 1160 Large Instrumental Ensemble provide principal brass settings, with Jazz Ensemble also available.
Performance & Productions
•Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, and small ensemble options support brass players
•Applied brass coursework covers instruments such as trumpet, trombone, French horn, baritone, or tuba
•Regular public concerts and JazzFest add performance activity each year
Degree Flexibility
•Credits prepare students to transfer into bachelor's degrees in music performance, music education, or music business
•NHCC music graduates have transferred to University of Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State Mankato, Concordia, University of Oregon, and University of Northern Iowa
