This program has a required admission interview and a separate internal interview and portfolio gate after enrollment. NMU states the next theatre and dance application cycle opens October 1, 2027

What's The Process

Audition Process

Submit resume and optional portfolio via Acceptd, OR interview at a live event

If attending an event that uses Acceptd or Submittable, no separate submission needed

15-minute Zoom interview with faculty required following resume review when not attending a live event

Be prepared to discuss your interest in the BFA Theatre Technology and Design program, resume, and any submitted portfolio materials

Have hardcopy portfolio materials available for the interview

Post-Enrollment

Current catalog states BFA admittance occurs in sophomore year based on interview and portfolio submission

Once admitted into the BFA, students choose one of six technology/design disciplines
