Audition Process
•No pre-enrollment theatre audition or prescreen is listed for university admission
•The Acting option uses a post-enrollment qualifying audition and interview for BFA candidacy
Audition Expectations
•Qualifying audition must be at least 10 minutes long
•Prepare two or more contrasting pieces selected from comedy, drama, tragedy, song, and dance
•Academic advisor and performance faculty must approve selections before the qualifying semester
•Passing average is 80%; an unsatisfactory qualifying performance must be repeated the following semester
Post-Enrollment
•Qualifying audition occurs in the second or third semester of residency at a time assigned by the Theatre Arts Program Director
•Acting students complete annual jury evaluations based on production activity and academic progress
•Acting students audition for all main stage productions and the Richard B. Harrison Players
