Requirements

•Two Contrasting monologues, 90 sec or less each

•Monologues can be from a play or film

•One can be from Shakespeare, but it is not required

•Expect short conversation, followed by monologue sessions and Q&A

Application Logistics

•Apply to Nazareth before scheduling the required audition

•Submit a headshot and resume before the audition through the Admissions Dashboard

•In-person auditions are offered on campus and at Chicago Unified Auditions; virtual auditions are available by request

•Contact Admissions Counselor Olivia Vescovi at ovescov1@naz.edu for a virtual audition

Transfer Pathway

Transfer applicants to BFA Acting for Stage & Screen complete the same required audition. Students entering with an earned AA, AS, or AAS are ordinarily granted 60 transfer credits and junior standing, subject to the formal course-by-course evaluation and remaining degree requirements.

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Auditions are held from fall through spring and registration closes two weeks before each date

•In-person options include campus and Chicago Unified Auditions on February 4, 2027

•Three live virtual auditions are offered between December and March by request

•Virtual candidates submit a headshot and resume in advance, then perform live over Zoom

Audition Expectations

•Bring a printed headshot and resume for an in-person audition

•Begin with a short conversation, then perform two contrasting monologues of 90 seconds or less each, followed by a Q&A

•Monologues may come from a play or film; Shakespeare is permitted but not required

Scholarship Info

•Performing arts scholarships up to $5,000 based on audition quality

•If selected, scholarship appears on financial aid award letter
