TWO CONTRASTING SELECTIONS FROM CLASSICAL REPERTOIRE
•Both selections must be performed from memory
•Accompanist provided — or bring your own
•Provide hard copies of sheet music for the accompanist

APPLICATION STEPS
•Step 1: Apply to MTSU through the university application
•Step 2: Complete the School of Music Application on the music department website
•Step 3: Audition (in-person or virtual)
SCHOLARSHIPS
•All auditioning students considered for music scholarships
•Audition by February 28 for priority scholarship consideration
•Regional Scholars program available for out-of-state students within 250 miles or contiguous states
What's The Process
AUDITION PROCESS
•In-person audition before voice faculty OR virtual audition submission
•Virtual audition portal open February 1 through April 30
•Submit by March 1 for priority scholarship consideration
•Acceptance results communicated mid to late March
•Scholarship offers communicated in April
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•Music Theory and Aural Skills Diagnostic Exam required for placement
•Contact the School of Music Office to schedule the exam
POST-ADMISSION
•Jury examinations each semester to measure progress
•Upper-division jury required by end of sixth semester
•Junior and senior recitals required

•Merit-based scholarships for musically gifted and academically talented students
•All auditioning students considered for music scholarships

•Must be academically admitted to MTSU before scholarship may be offered

•Out-of-state students within 250 miles or contiguous states may qualify for reduced tuition
•Must have 25 ACT and attend full time
