Audition Process
•Bullet: Students must audition into the Performance concentration after enrolling as a music major
•Bullet: Must have no grade lower than C- in all completed music courses
•Bullet: Students on academic probation are ineligible to audition
•Bullet: Optional audition before MVNU music faculty for scholarship consideration
•Bullet: Audition in your major applied area (voice, keyboard, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, or composition)
•Bullet: Prepare two selections from different style periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Twentieth Century)
•Bullet: Instrumentalists may prepare one selection if it demonstrates both lyrical and technical aspects
•Bullet: Material does not need to be memorized
•Bullet: Recorded auditions accepted (YouTube links preferred)
•Bullet: Due Dec. 10, 2026 for fall or Feb. 18, 2027 for spring; application due one week before the recording deadline
